Redhawks fall to Cardinals again.

Redhawks fall to Cardinals again.

The Cardinals continued their win streak on Tuesday, February 18th, against the RedHawks of Indiana University Northwest. The Cardinals are now 19-4 with the win over the RedHawks, 74-60.

The Cardinals had a lot on their hands with the RedHawks extensive team of 3-point shooters. Their shooters were not afraid to pull from 3 to 6 feet behind the 3-point line. They connected on 7 of 15 from downtown in the first half but the Cardinals locked down the paint to keep them from getting points inside. The Cardinals defense stepped up their intensity to help gain the lead. The excellent shooting by the RedHawks was not enough to keep the Cardinals from leading 42-34 at the half.

The Cardinals were determined to defend their home court and walk away with the win. Coach Dave Jardine told his team exactly what they needed to do in the second half to win the game and they did just that. The Cardinals defense came up with 11 steals and forced 21 turnovers for the game. They also out-rebounded their opponent 39-31.

Senior guard Tyler Wooldridge and freshman forward Robert Moon combined for 50 of the Cardinals 74 points. Wooldridge posted 30 points, shot 5 of

9 from downtown, and grabbed 6 rebounds. Moon had a spectacular game and a near double-double with 20 points and 9 boards.

The Cardinals will take on Olivet College on Thursday evening at 7:30pm at Johnson Gym.
